Connie A. Van Houter, 60, went home to be with her Lord suddenly on September 17, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY.
Connie was born on June 2, 1951, in Albany, the daughter of the Late Esther (Scott) and James Traynham.
Connie was a 1970 graduate of Philip Schuyler High School. She retired from the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles, having worked as a Senior Data Entry Operator in the Fatal Unit. During her employment, she was very active in the local CSEA #374 Union, having served as Vice President.
Connie will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit. She cherished her family, grandchildren and had a fond love of Angels.
Loving wife of William P. Van Houter III. Loving mother of Tonya "Nikki" (Joseph) Chapple, Sharon (Louis) Malcolm, William P. "Cheeks" (Nyquesia) Van Houter IV and Emesia Quarry.
Cherished sister of Maudine Morman, David (Brenda) Traynham and Tobey (Stacy) Traynham.
Grandmother to Dominique, Monique, Angelique, A'lea, Da'Mazion, William V., Na'Zyi, Jo'Leyla and Hynefah.
Connie was pre-deceased by her brother James (Booie) Traynham, Jr. and Maxine Morman.
Connie leaves her special sisters Jocelyn Bland and Gail Harris and several special nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011, at 11:00 at New Horizons Christian Church, 146 Catherine St. Albany, NY 12202. Visitation will pre-cede from 9:00-11:00 am.
