ALBANY- Constance M. Boone Knapp, 77, of Albany, passed away on Thursday March 4, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born in Jersey Shore, PA and was the daughter of the late Russell and Claretta Boone.
Connie was raised in Albany, graduated from Albany High School in 1950 and Albany Business College in 1952. She was a stenographer for Delaware & Hudson Railroad for 15 years and later worked for New York State Office of Child & Family Services. Connie was a talented seamstress, homemaker and upholsterer. She took great pride in her craft creating outfits for premature babies and beautiful handmade dollhouses for local charities, family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed participating in St. Margaret Mary Women's bowling league and spending summers at Lake Luzerne.
Connie is the devoted wife of 56 years to Edward J. Knapp. She is the beloved mother of Judith (Nicholas) Zelenewych, Kitti (Michael) Visker, Teresa (Ismael) Ramos and Amy (Tracy) Cicardi. She is the cherished grandmother of Kellie (Chris), Mike, Joe (Caitlin), Carlie, Beth, Mary, Brittany, Bo, Lucas and Adam. She is the sister of the late Marilyn Yvonne Stiles.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 11:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center, 43 New Scotland Ave., Albany NY 12208 in memory of Constance M. Knapp.
