LATHAM – Corinne L. VanAlstyne, 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Albany Medical Center Hospital, after a long courageous battle with heart disease. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Corinne was born on November 16, 1933, in Adams, MA and was the daughter of the late Louis and Mildred (Callan) Adams. She loved life and her family, and was always the life of the party. She loved to sing and make everyone laugh with her many stories. Nothing gave her more pleasure than showering her family with gifts. She spent most of her life as a caregiver for children, family, and friends. She loved life at her camp at Sacandaga Lake, bingo, shopping, and sharing her memories of when she acted and sang in local theatre.
Corinne is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Thomas E. VanAlstyne; her loving children, William (JoAnn) Swint, Terry (Doug Logan) Swint Tedesco, Don (Gail) Swint, Lori (Richard) Swint Antalek, and Tracey (Joe Bruno) VanAlstyne Bowers; her sisters, Anne Nelson and Linda (Ray) Martin; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Richard and William Adams.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Corinne L. VanAlstyne.
