Corrine M. LaRose of Colonie, NY, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2023 with her daughters by her side.
Corrine, lovingly known as 'Meesie' to all, was born October 11 in Saranac Lake, NY to the late George and Lillian Goetz. She was the youngest of five children. Growing up in the Adirondacks, Corrine developed a deep connection to the area that carried with her throughout her life. Her childhood was enriched by many exciting experiences in the Adirondacks including encounters with Albert Einstein and family camping trips to Lake Clear.
She was married on November 25, 1948 to the love of her life, the late Donald LaRose and is survived by their four children, Scott, Suzanne Hendricks, David (Christine), and Kathleen Moore.
Corrine went on to become a beloved matriarch of a very large and loving family and is survived by her brother William Goetz of Plattsburgh, NY, and more than 4 dozen cherished and loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, a soon to be great-great grandson, numerous nieces & nephews, as well as many cherished friends.
Corrine was predeceased by her parents, older siblings, Edward, Robert, and Margaret, her loving husband, Don, granddaughter, Jennifer, son-in-law, Dean Moore, Jr., as well as many other loved ones.
Corrine's wit and savvy were a staple of her character her entire life. Her love for books and reading led her to pursue a career as a Library Clerk in the Children's room for over 20 years at the William K. Sanford Town Library, retiring in 1993. Despite being born at a time when her family had a single shared radio and never driving a car, Corrine embraced the use of technology whole-heartedly. She was an avid smartphone user and had more social media savvy than many of her own grandchildren. If you knew Meesie, you were likely to receive texts and Facebook messages from her, often at all hours of the night. Her love for all her friends and family was evidenced in her devotion to commenting on everyone's social media posts and keeping up with the life events of everyone she cared about, and more importantly always saying prayers for those who needed them.
Corrine always kept up with current events and was a true fashionista, with her grandkids frequently borrowing outfits from her closet. During football season you'd often catch her checking the scores to see if she had won anything on the football squares that she would go in on with her 'BFF' Debbie.
During her late teenage years, she spent a lot of time in Boston for health-related reasons and developed her love of the Boston Red Sox. She remained a steadfast fan even later in life despite being at the center of a family of Yankee fans, only once agreeing to don Yankee attire.
