Cory A. Wickham

ALBANY- Cory A. Wickham, age 55, passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 3, 2025 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a courageous battle with Cancer.

He was born in San Bernardino, CA, son of Marjorie (Dave) Bauer-Kimmel and Richard (Carol) Wickham.

Cory was a lifelong resident of Albany, NY, where he is well known for his Car Audio expertise. In the beginning of his career, he was a car install manager for employers who were fond of his superb talent in this field along with a work ethic like no other. He then successfully opened his first business, OZCOR CAR AUDIO in Albany, NY and then his final and current business Direct Service Auto and Home. Cory was known around the Capital District for his booming system and his Astro Van. Everyone knew Cory was coming blocks away. He had a friend list like no other and many would often stop by knowing they would find him in the garage working his magic.

Cory was most content spending time with his family, whether it be traveling, enjoying the yard or just cooking in the kitchen. He always had a lesson he was sharing with a heart of gold. He was most proud of his children and the greatest “Pop” to his grandchildren. 

 Cory is survived by his loving family, wife Gina; children: Ella, Evan, Alexis, Matthew (Clare), and Ashley; three grandchildren: Brooklyn, MJ and Arielle; brothers, Dean (Kim) Wickham, Marty (Kelly) Wickham; mother in law; Rosalie Sidoti; brothers in law: Joseph (Keri) Sidoti and Jeff Sidoti; sisters in law: Marisa (John) Montefusco and Mattia (Joseph) Sidoti-Lavigne. He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

He was predeceased by his brother, Stephen Wickham; grandparents, Eleanor and Edward Bauer; uncle, Edward Bauer and Richard Lauster, Sr.; aunts, Deborah Bauer and Barbara Bauer-Mull; and father in law, Joseph Sidoti.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Sunday January 12, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his funeral service following at 5:00 p.m.

The family would like to express thanks and gratitude to Dr. Younes and NYOH staff, Dr. Mandeep Bhamra with Albany GI Associates and St. Peter’s 5th floor Oncology Unit for all the care and support for Cory during his healthcare journey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
