ALBANY- Courtney Nathaniel George went to be with the Lord on Monday October 24, 2005 after a period of illness. He was born in Guyana, South America on May 11, 1935 to the parents William and Irene George.
At the age of 20, he migrated to England where he served in the British Army and later trained in Germany as a mechanic with Mercedes Benz. Courtney came to the United States and settled in Albany where he operated George's Mobil gas station for several years.
He leaves to mourn, three children, three brothers, six sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 9:00 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany NY 12205.
