Guilderland- Craig Frederick Wiltse, 56, of Guilderland, NY, died peacefully on January 30, 2025, after a short illness. He was surrounded by family. Born in Baldwinsville, he graduated from Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, FL, in 1987. Craig was a proud US Navy veteran and was awarded two Sea Service Ribbons for his work as an aviation mechanic during the Gulf War. After his honorable discharge, Craig continued to work in civilian aviation for 34 years at airports across Florida and New York. He took great pride in his work as a mechanic and was well respected by his colleagues for his skill and attentiveness. He most recently worked for Commute Air in Albany, NY. Craig was an easy-going friend and a joy to spend time with—his laugh would light up every room he was in. He will be most remembered as a hardworking family man, who gave everything he had to the people he loved.
Craig is predeceased by his mother, Carol Meldrum Wiltse, who died in 2023.
He is survived by his beloved wife Suzanne Berry Wiltse, his daughter Ashleigh (Kevin Hulvey) Wiltse, his father Charles (Mary Connery) Wiltse, and his sister Laurie (Gerald) Payne. No services will be held, but the family plans to hold a celebration of life this summer at his childhood camp on Lake Ontario.
