Crawford Burnham (nickname Boo Boo) 74, passed away on March 25th, 2024 at St. Peters Hospital after a sudden illness.
He was born and raised in Albany, NY on August 29th, 1949 to the Late Crawford Burnham Sr and Eleanor (Fisher) Burnham. He attended Colonie High School where he found joy in bowling with his brothers and once broke his leg skiing with them.
His culinary talents led him to work as a chef at the Italian American Club, but his true mastery was showcased in his home kitchen where he lovingly prepared meals for his family.
Boo boo's favorite thing to do was be with his family. He loved being a dad and was very good at it. His heart of gold, humor and generosity lives within his daughter Barbara. He spent a great amount of time with his grandchildren. His daughter and grand daughters have special memories of him letting them style his hair into ponytails and barrettes. He would laugh and use his black comb to brush through his hair so they could start all over again. He taught his grandchildren how to play card games and eventually spent many endless nights playing video games with them.
His love for video games continued for his entire life. His favorite games were Mario Party and all of the Lego games amongst many others. He was also known to be a lucky guy when it came to scratching off lottery tickets. He loved to dance and sing as country music filled his house and kitchen.
Boo Boo loved to make jokes and share laughter with everyone he came across. He enjoyed watching TV shows like " The Voice" and " The Masked Singer." He looked up to Elvis and shared many qualities- like his dancing skills, his great looks and even his hair.
He was predeceased by his long time companion of 47 years, Anna T. Stafford who passed away in 2017. Together they had their only daughter Barbara.
Crawford was blessed with many siblings. He had 7 brothers and 6 sisters. He is predeceased by his brothers Edward and Crawford Jr. He is predeceased by his sisters Ethel, Patricia, Connie, and Debra.
Crawford is survived by his loving daughter Barbara (Burnham) Walters whom he lived with and is forever loved by. He is also survived by his step daughter Anna M. Stafford who he loved as his own. He is survived by his brothers Robert, Paul, Gregory, Francis, John. He is survived by his sisters Marion and Harriet. Crawford is survived by his 6 grandchildren who cherished him and think of him fondly; Sandra (Stafford) La, Robert Stafford, Timothy Walters, Justin Walters, Amber Walters and Mariah Wray. He is survived by 9 great grandchildren; Brandon and Brody La, Joseph, Zachary, Isabella, Jacob Walters, Brayden and Myles Walters, and Robert Stafford Jr. He is also survived by his best family friend Susan Fuller and remembered by many more.
A celebration of Boo Boo's life will take place at New Comer Funeral Home at 343 New Karner Road in Colonie on Monday April 1st 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with a service at 1:00 PM.
Memorials made in Crawford's name are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
