Curlan R. Gibbes

December 18, 1931 — February 17, 2013

Curlan R. Gibbes, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb 17, 2013 at the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center after his battle with Alzheimer's. He was born in St. Georges, Grenada, West Indies to the late Ernest and Selena Gibbes. He was a long time Real Estate Broker in Latham and was a loving foster and adopted parent. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother and a sister.

He is survived by his loving partner and wife of over 30 years, Doreen M. Springsteen-Gibbes, he is the brother of Rhoda Alexis of Lasalle PC, Canada and Bertrum Gibbes of Far Rockaway, LI. He is the father of Xzavier, Alexander, Chavez and Naikeyia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and close family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Northeastern New York, Pine West Plaza Building 4, Suite 405 Washington Av. Ext. Albany, NY 12205 in Curlan's memory.

Funeral service for Curlan will be on Thursday at 12:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 9 to 12 at the funeral home.
