Cynthia H. Burk

COLONIE – Cynthia H. Burk, 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 after a long illness. Born in Bethlehem, PA she was the daughter of the late William and Frances Hallman. Mrs. Burk was a resident of Colonie for most of her life.


Cynthia was the beloved wife of the late James L. Burk. She is the devoted mother of Judith Quinn and her husband, Michael and Frances Carr and her spouse, Kelly Kolodziejski. She is the cherished grandmother of Stephanie Fonda, Nathan Rossman, Christie Hemingway and Sean Carr and step-grandmother of Michael Quinn and George (Kirsten) Quinn. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Wallace Hallman, Shirley Lutters, Doris Dyson and William Hallman. Cynthia's family would like to thank both the staff of The Terrace at Beverwyck and hospice for all of their care and compassion.


Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, One Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110 in memory of Cynthia H. Burk.
