Daina J. Majewski

Schenectady- Daina J. Majewski, 49, passed away December 24, 2016 at Saratoga Hospital. The daughter of the late Gerald and Doreen (Brown) Zielinski, she was born on October 16, 1967 in Schenectady, NY. Daina was a graduate of South Colonie Central High School, class of 1985. She was employed at SEFCU since 1989. Daina lived and worked in the Capital District her whole life. She volunteered for Community Caregivers in Albany, volunteered time and talent to SEFCU Foundation and participated in walks to support AHA, Hospice, ACS, and Kelly for Kids. Daina loved gardening, camping, reading and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Steven E. Majewski; her children: Melanie and Colby Majewski; her brothers: Gary A. (Michele) Zielinski and Glen J. (Judy) Zielinski; nieces and nephews: Laura Dingman, Alyssa, Joey, Ryan and Austin Zielinski; her great-niece, Evangeline Rivers; her brother-in-law Robert Rice; many extended family members; and her furever friend, Sammy. In addition to her parents, Daina was predeceased by her sister, Diane Dingman-Rice.
Visitation will be from 2 pm to 5 pm on Saturday, December 31 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A graveside service will be held at 10 am on January 4 at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Daina's name to SEFCU Foundation,Community Caregivers of Albany, and Melanoma Research Foundation.
