Albany- Daise May Dobbs affectionately known as (Dayday) to family and friends, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Albany Medical Center Hospital Albany, NY. Daise was born and raised in Albany, NY until her untimely passing. She was known for her generosity, her loving kindness, devotion and dedication to her family and friends.

Daise was a beautician for over 50 years. She was also the owner of "A Cut Above" and "New Beginnings" beauty salon for 48 years. Over the years, Daise formed many good friendships and, through those friendships was loved and deeply respected by all in the community who knew her. Daise was full of life and definitely a woman of class and style. She loved R & B music, jazz and she "loved" to dance. She loved spending time with her family and friends (especially her children).

Daise was a member of the North Albany Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. She was devoted and dedicated to her God Jehovah for over 47 years and would preach to everyone one she met. She was loved and respected by everyone that she knew and there was not a life in the Christian Congregation that she didn't touch, and always, went beyond the call of duty to help everyone.

Daise M. Dobbs leaves to cherish her memories five children and a step-son: Telisa (Harry) Cain, Austin (Jovette) Young, Dereke (Denise) Dobbs, Ronya (Douglas) Bynum, Willie (Vernette) Dobbs and Melissa Dobbs. Daise was the grandmother of: {17} grandchildren , and 17 Great-granchildren ~ Shaterra (David) Springsteen, Hikiem (Marisol) Cain, Sharena Cain, Candace (Khalid) Miller, Terrance Dobbs, Devon Dobbs, Darryl Caldwell II, Brittany (Ryon) McLennan, Cachet Dobbs, Arias Dobbs, Quirrah Dobbs, Tyler Dobbs, Cameron Dobbs, Daiysha Miller, Nikisha Young, Dionna Young, Elijah Young . Daise also had {17} Great-grand children ~ Tyi McAdoo, Jace Springsteen, Makayla Cain, Melani Cain, Ja'von Long, Jazmin Long, Jahmir Palacio, Kahsiyah Cain, Kaleb Dobbs, Zoe Dobbs, Zack Caldwell, Kaden Caldwell, Olivia Grace McLennan, Arianne Dobbs, Kylani Miller, Nashea Horne, Milton Horne.

Daise May Dobbs was the daughter of Lee B. McKenzie and Bessie Hatti (Davis) McKenzie. She is survived by one brother, Robert Lee McKenzie (Betty McKenzie) of Bronx, NY; two sister-in laws Betty McKenzie of Albany, NY, Shirley Blanchard of Schenectady, NY and a host of numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special cousins: Pauline Lewis, Mattie Lee White and Haywood Davis. A special friend to Marion Daley, Gene Gaddy, Sammy Hickman, Leslie(Joyce) McIntosh, Stan (Sheila) Wellman and Douglas (Bonnie) Ivey.

She was pre-deceased in death by her parents Lee B. McKenzie and Bessie H. McKenzie, her brothers John Blanchard, James McKenzie and sister Hatti B. Johnson (William Earl Johnson) and three grandchildren.

Daise will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Our hearts are deeply sadden and broken by her sudden departure. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was truly a blessing.
