CHAPEL HILL, NC – Daisy Rose Willingham was born on March 5, 1935 in Albany and was the daughter of the late Galveston and Carrie Glass. She entered into eternal life on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Chapel Hill Rehabilitation Center. Daisy was a member of Wilborne Temple Church of God in Christ as a child. In 1980 she became a member of New Life Ministries in Attendance and later in the 1980's a member receiving the right hand of fellowship. Daisy loved fashion, making clothes and was an anointed artist. She was extremely outgoing and was best known for her unique sense of humor, and her love for dancing and ice-cream. She was as strong as an ox and fought a good fight. Daisy will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Willingham, Sr.; her parents, Galveston and Carrie Glass; her sister, Joan Delgado and her brothers, Harold, James, Francis and John Glass. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Arthur Willingham, Jr. and his wife, Sharon, Alex Price, Sr., Joseph Price, Jr. and his wife, Maria, all of Albany, and Tonya Price Belle of Durham, NC; a daughter-in-law, Lorraine Price of Albany, and a son-in-law, Michael Belle of Oxford, NC; her sister, Sylvester Henry of Stone Mountain, GA; her brother, David Glass and his wife, Doris of Albany; her sister-in-laws, Thelma Quattlebaum, Virginia Temple, Elnora Willingham and Panchita W. Miller; her brother-in-laws, Thomas (TC) Willingham, Joseph Willingham, Nathaniel Quattlebaum and Alfred Temple; seven grandchildren, Alex Price, Jr. and his wife, Yasharee of Albany, Cherron Belle Thompson and her husband, Dominque of Charlotte, NC, Ronnie Belle and Dearian Belle both of Durham, NC, Elon Willingham, Nachia Willingham and Sharon Willingham, all of Albany; three great-grandchildren, Nasier Bagley, Syncere Bagley and Amari Thompson, all of Charlotte, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 11:00 to 12:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
