Dale was passionate about the outdoors, enjoyed hunting and fishing and, could often be found wandering the woods; alone or with company. This passion carried over into his professional career and he worked for the United States Department of Agriculture as a soil and water conservationist for over thirty years. After he retired he returned to work as a consultant for the Iroquois Gas Line Company where he enjoyed the opportunity to get to know and work personally with farms and farmers effected by the pipe line.
He was a Mason, farmer, wood worker, and avid outdoorsman. He and his wife were enthusiastic travelers, camping across much of the US and Canada first with their children and later together. They spent many happy winters in Thonotosassa, Florida where they made many friends and enjoyed the warm weather. He survived polio as a teenager, cancer in 1997, and numerous bumps and bruises along the way. He wore his scars proudly and considered them signs of a life well lived.
Greatest highlight this year was to attend to the marriage of his grandson Sam Emory to Nicole Marino in September 2016.
A private service is planned for immediate family.
