Dallas Valentini

January 21, 1924 — December 18, 2018

Dallas Valentini, 94, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2018. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Parsons Tuff and Anna Mary Maude (Cooke) Tuff.

Her parents relocated the family from Brooklyn to Lindenhurst, Long Island, NY during her early childhood.

She attended and graduated from Lindenhurst High School

On June 12, 1948 she married Frank Valentini at the Grace Methodist Church in Lindenhurst, and moved to Troy, NY where she assisted him as he attended RPI and later entered the Navy.

Upon his graduation, they moved to Hyde Park, NY where Dallas focused on creating and maintaining a loving home for her four boys.

In 1966 the family moved to Albany, NY and shortly thereafter to Chatham Center, NY following a job change by her husband.

As her children were growing and establishing their own families, Dallas became a small business owner, establishing, opening, and operating the Dallas Yarn Shop on Main Street, Chatham, NY until the time of their retirement when she sold the shop.

Entering retirement, the Valentini Family purchased a golf course side home at Pinehurst, NC and subsequently, Foxfire, NC to enjoy the fruits of their labors and pursue their love of the game.

They enjoyed traveling and frequently drove north to visit their children and grandchildren as well as various cruises and trips to Europe, Mexico, California and the Caribbean, among others. They enjoyed frequent trips to their North Myrtle Beach townhouse, especially when the grandchildren would visit them during school vacations.

Upon Frank's death, Dallas returned to New York to be nearer her children and (especially) her grandchildren.

She fulfilled a lifelong passion to live on a lake by purchasing a lakeside home on Helderberg Lake in East Berne, NY. She later moved to Delmar, NY when the property became too much for her to maintain.

In her final years she was a resident at, first, Brookdale Assisted Living in Niskayuna, NY and then Kingsway Manor Assisted Living and Kingsway Arms Skilled Nursing in Schenectady, NY. Her family would like to thank each of the facilities for the unending compassion and loving care that each provided her.

Dallas is predeceased by Her Loving Husband, Frank, her infant grandson, Drew and her sister, Jean.

She is survived by her four sons; Ladd (Marilyn), Todd, Dal (Susie) and Lee (Caroline). Grandchildren; Dean, Jennifer, Justin, Jason, Elizabeth, Kathryn.
Her Brother, Eric and her sisters; Vera, Betty, and Helen, and each of their children - her loving nieces and nephews.
