ALBANY- Daniel DeLima, 79, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014 at his home. Born in Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Ernest DeLima and Elena Raposa, and was the step son of Antonette DeLima.
Daniel worked as a butcher for many years at Albany Public Market and later retired from the New York State Office of General Services.
Daniel will be missed by his wife of 59 years, Helena DeLima, his children; Ralph (Zenaide) DeLima, Marie (Thomas) Barone, and Naomi DeLima, his brothers and sisters; Joseph (Theresa) DeLima, Michael (Grace) DeLima, Mary (John) Camelo, and Noemia (Manny) Silva, his grandchildren; Jason (Melissa) Barone, Andrew Barone, Joseph Barone, Jennifer DeLima, Amanda (Christopher) Fernandez, Sara DeLima, and Daniel J. DeLima, and his great-grandchildren; Jaylin DeLima-Marable, Isabela Fernandez, Noah DeLima-Reed, and Anthony Barone, and a host of many nieces and nephews.
Daniel is predeceased by his sisters; Dorothy Baron, Leona (Tony) DeFrias, and Emily (Antonio) Silva, and his parents and step-mother, Antoinette DeLima.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday June 13th, at Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany. Calling hours will precede the Mass from 8 to 10 am on Friday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be held at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
