Delmar- Daniel "Dan" P. Duskin On February 28th, 2024 the area lost one of its most colorful and enigmatic characters. Dan Duskin lost his long, hard-fought battle with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was a true fighter, but Cancer finally just wore him out ending a life of contradictions and unanswered questions.
Blessed, some would say cursed, with a near-genius IQ, Dan struggled to find the right fit in life. His early life was a product of every Gifted and Talented and Enrichment Program a loving mother could find for him.

The heady Vietnam Era brought changes to many Americans and Dan was no exception. When he returned to this area, he left his engineering world behind and returned to his first love: engine repair, particularly diesel engine repair. He approached mechanical problems the way the rest of us did crosswords or Wordle. To him they were just interesting puzzles. He became "Diesel Dan". He turned his back on academics, crafted a personna of colorful spelling and alternative grammar, and moved into a different world. And finally found comfort with friends there. He'd found Good People.
Dan had to go down the Road ahead of us. Those of us who knew him know that if his $75 truck broke down on the way to Eternity, he got out, fixed it and continued on to Paradise. And Peace.
