Daniel Taylor

July 5, 1957 — December 17, 2013

Albany – Daniel J. Taylor, 56, passed away at his residence on Wednesday December 18, 2013. Born in Albany, he is the son of James and Alice Taylor.

Daniel came from three generations of Albany Traffic Police Officers. He was a 20 year veteran of The Albany Police Department, before retiring in 2000. He proudly served on the motorcycle unit of the traffic safety division alongside his brother Jeff for many years. Daniel loved to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing, but his true passion was music. He was an accomplished guitar player, and loved to play Jimmy Hendrix songs on his guitar.

Daniel is survived by his loving wife Wendy, of 31 years, and their children; Aaron Taylor and Danielle (Robert) Keyser. He is also survived by his sister Deborah (William) Rougier, and brother James Jeffrey (Kathy) Taylor. In addition, Daniel is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A Memorial Service for Daniel will be held Saturday December 21st at 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Calling hours will precede the service from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
