TROY – Daniel Xavier Nolan, 55, passed away peacefully at home, with his loved ones by his side on Monday, May 21, 2012. Born in Albany on July 5, 1956, he was the devoted son of William and Florence Nolan. Danny graduated from Albany High School. He worked at the Albany Airport and then for the New York State Thruway Authority from where he retired after thirty-two years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #49 in Albany. "Big Dan" was an avid New York Giants fan and deer hunter. He enjoyed fireworks, spending time with friends and most especially his sons, whom he was very proud.

Dan is survived by his beloved partner, Kathy McMahon; his loving sons, Eric (Brenna) Nolan, Cody Nolan and Tyler Nolan; his sister, Judy (Bill) Lane and his brother, Mark (Mary) Nolan and their family.


Funeral services will be Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date and time to be announced. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 in memory of Daniel X. Nolan.
