ALBANY - Danielle "Pooza" Crystal McLaughlin, 39, passed away, after a brave and hard battle with cancer, on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital.
Danielle was born on October 7, 1976 to King and Patricia McLaughlin. She graduated from the Albany Public School system, worked as a CNA for several years and, most recently, was employed by the Capital District Psychiatric Center.
Danielle enjoyed life. She especially loved music, movies, and was an avid reader and lover of books. Activities such as picnicking and swimming with her family were her special joy. She was a giver who always put others first.
Danielle is survived by Trevon Johnson, her life companion of over 20 years, and their children: Nashon, Queen, Nefertari, Dakarai, Jacorian, and King IV. She is also survived by her parents, King and Patricia, her sister Delores (her daughter Ife) and her brothers King II (his children King III, Emoni, and Laona) and Shaun, and numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives, lifelong friends Lataya Hutcherson and Natalie Roberts and many other friends. She is predeceased by her grandparents Ward and Delores McLaughlin and William and Theresa Evans.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm.
