Danny D. Nelson, affectionately known as Poppy, was born March 31, 1982 in Albany, NY. His life was influenced by his Father Daniel Bronson Nelson, mother Rita Heidi Stone (Fulton) both of upstate New York and surrogate Dad, the Late Pastor Charles Fulton.
Poppy was educated in the Albany school system and graduated from EOC. Poppy was a laborer and Landscaper. He did not let his disability hinder him. He much would rather work than be labeled as disabled. Poppy enjoyed helping his brother in his landscaping business. He enjoyed spending time caring for his beloved Iana, his daughter. In his spare time he loved playing video games with his brothers Andre, Joel, and his nephew Jayden. There was much excitement in my home when these three Omega's got together. Didn't matter if it was football or basketball.
Poppy was a member of the Holy Serenity Church of God in Christ, where he united with on January 30, 2000. During this time, he started a ministry where he and his mom would send scriptures to encourage many individuals, as well as expound on the Word of God. Poppy wrote many poems and recently started writing music.
Poppy loved spending time with family. If you were in his presence he had a way of making you feel as though you were the most important person in the world. Poppy also enjoyed spending a lot of time with his cousin Damion. Damion was there during the good, the bad and the ugly times. Poppy was very protective over his mother and knew mom was very protective of him as well.
Poppy was predeceased by his daughter Diamond Barr Nelson; Grandfathers Solomon J. Stone and James Nelson; Grandmothers Florie Mae Stone and Dollie Lee Harvey.
Danny leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Iana Rita Mae Nelson of Clifton Park, NY; his mother, Mrs. Rita Fulton of Clifton Park, NY: one sister Arnique Rowlett of Albany, NY; his brothers, Andre Fulton of West Sand Lake, Jordan and Joel Fulton of Clifton Park; his Godmother Yvonne Harris, Godsisters, Monique Tarver of Newport News NY and Yanisha Oliver of Albany NY; special sister/cousin Tiavana Whitbeck of Niskayuna NY; cousin Christa Bellamy (his partner in crime) of Albany, NY.
