Darla D. Brooks

Watervliet- Darla D. Brooks, 72, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Griffin Antone and Norma Kennedy. Darla was the devoted wife to Paul E. Brooks. They were married 54 years.

Darla worked as a social worker for Albany Department of Social Services until her retirement where she found many friends in her coworkers.

Darla enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved spending her time listening to music with her best friend/ husband, Paul. Darla enjoyed going on road trips to casinos with her best friend, Suzie. Most of all, Darla enjoyed socializing with her friends, especially with VFW friends.

In addition to her husband, Darla is survived by her daughters, Pamela M. (Michele) Brooks and Victoria J. (Neal) Tommasini; beloved grandson, Carmen C. Tommasini; siblings, Wendy Sickles, Charlene (George) Beatty, Melanie Sickles, Glenn (Tammy) Kennedy, Elaine (Jesse) Ireland; dearest friends, Rich and Sue Battibulli; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Darla is predeceased by her brother, Robert Antone, Sr.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189 on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 12pm to 1pm with a funeral service to begin at 1pm.
