David M. Cardella, Sr., 58, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Sunday, October 24, 2021.
Dave was known for being unapologetically himself. He was outspoken in his love and pride for his three children. He lived on his own terms, loved deeply and unfiltered, and had a knack for bringing the fun to any gathering. Some people didn't always understand him, but he was too stubborn to try to love people any other way. He was open about his faith in God, and lived boldly in the faithfulness of the Lord.
Dave was born in Albany to the late Frank Sr and Angelina Cardella. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister-in-law Barbara Cardella. He is survived by brothers Frank Jr (Cindi) Cardella, Vincent Sr (Debra) Cardella, Santino (Valerie) Cardella along with their families, children Marc (Colleen) Cardella with granddaughters Tallon and Riley, David Jr (Karla) Cardella and granddaughter Gia, and Elizabeth (Shane) Hayes with grandsons Logan and Camden, along with cherished friend Ruth Lex and many lifelong friends.
Dave was a friend to many, and had a passion for and vast knowledge of classic Pontiac muscle cars, as a member of the Electric City GTO Club, and Mohawk Valley Pontiacs.
Calling hours will be held at Bethel Full Gospel Church, 3625 Guilderland Ave. Rotterdam, NY on Friday 10/29/21, starting at 11am, with a service at 1pm. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Albany, NY 12205.
