Schenectady- David G. Cummings, 70, after a long illness, passed away on September 2, 2022, at his Schenectady home in the presence of his loving wife. David was born in Niskayuna, NY, attended RPI and graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh. He taught chemistry and physics at the Adirondack School in Schuylerville.
David hobbies included collecting and expertly restoring antique cars, motorcycles, and model trains. He was known and loved by many people for his unfailing kindness to both people and animals, as well as for his willingness to lend a hand or to help fix anything broken. David had a wonderfully happy childhood traveling with his family in Brazil and in Europe where his family was sent by his father's employer, the GE Co. Until his death, he continued to visit Spain, where he maintained many friendships, both old and new.
David is survived, by his beloved wife Nancy Ruota Cummings (former married name Polachek) and by his devoted sister-in-law Barbara Fero Cummings of Queensbury, NY.
David was preceded in death by his parents John J. Cummings and Christianne Gaillard Cummings, by his uncle Jean Gaillard of Paris France, and by his brother John M. Cummings.
