David G. Deyoe

January 27, 1947 — February 19, 2021

KNOX- David G. Deyoe, age 74, passed away suddenly on February 19, 2021 at St. Peter's Hospital.

He was born in Catskill, NY, the son of the late Bernard and Maude Deyoe.

He graduated from Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central High School, and after graduating enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam Era. He served on an aircraft carrier as a helicopter mechanic. He joined the Albany Police Department in 1970 where he first worked in the traffic division as a motorcycle patrolman and then later as a Detective working out of Division 1 until his retirement in 1993.

Dave served his country and the Albany community. He was a hardworking and loyal man you could depend on. He was an even tempered man who never had a bad word for anyone. He always said "You have to play the hand you are dealt," and was never one to complain. He had a strong but gentle presence, and was greatly valued by his many friends and family.

He was a lifelong Harley Davidson enthusiast and outdoorsman. He enjoyed working on the many motorcycles, cars, and boats he owned over the years.

Dave was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Patricia; son, Craig (Diane); step son, Robert J. Weidman (Doreen); grandchildren, Erin and Shannon Deyoe, Corey, PFC Robert J. Jr. USMC, and Amanda Weidman. He is also survived by his brother, Douglas, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family, with a memorial service to be announced at a later date with interment at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
