COLONIE – David E. Graver, 70, passed to eternal rest on Monday, November 2, 2009. He was born in 1939 and was the son of the late William and Mary Elizabeth Chestnut Graver. Raised in West Albany, he moved to Colonie in 1971. Dave was a member of Communication Workers of America Local 1118 and started working for the telephone company in 1966. He remained there until he retired in 1997. Dave was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman who loved to take people fishing and share his knowledge. When he wasn't fishing he took great pride in growing his garden and sharing the crops with his friends and relatives. He was a lover of life and enjoyed interacting with everyone he met. He will be sorely missed. Dave is the beloved husband of Frances M. Graver and the loving father of Frances (John) Kelly. His world after retirement revolved around his grandson, David Kelly. Dave had two brothers, Donald (Donny) Graver of Arizona and the late William (Billy) Graver, Jr. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. Graver.
