LOUDONVILLE, NY - David E. Sayers, 64, of Loudonville, NY passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at his residence.
He was born in Timmins, Ontario and was the son of the late Ernest and Evelyn (Leck) Sayers. David was the beloved husband of Claudia M. Sayers, the devoted father of Eric Sayers and Laura Sayers, and the grandfather of Ellie. He was also survived by his sister Shirley Kirkley (the later Peter) and brother Bill (Bernetta) Sayers as well as many nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his sister, Sylvia Howe (the late Charlie). David moved his family to the Albany area in 1992 where he began a successful small business, Flags by Claudia, with his wife. He enjoyed racquetball and golf, was an avid reader of history, business, and politics, and enjoyed international travel. David grew up in Schumacher, Ontario and graduated from the Schumacher High School in 1965.
Funeral services in celebration of Dave's life will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm and Saturday from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home. At the request of the family and in memory of David E.
