Clifton Park- David F. Washburn, 72, died on Saturday, April 16, 2005, at home surrounded by his family. Born in Albany he was the son of the late J. Frank and Mabel I. Washburn. David served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. After his return he went on to work for the Local Teamsters out of Fort Edward. David was an avid baseball fan. He also enjoyed the outdoors, backyard campfires, his music, and reading. David is predeceased by his beloved wife of 42 years Ruth Washburn, and his brother Frank Washburn.
David leaves behind three children; Robin Ammerman and her husband Scott of Indiana, Lisa Kelly and her husband Larry of Clifton Park, and Gary Stevens and his wife Julie of Ballston Spa, and four grandchildren; David, Justin, Tricia, and Carter. He is also survived by two brothers; Elmer Washburn of Watervliet, and Larry Washburn of Latham, many nieces and nephews, his beloved dog Ko-Ko, and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of David F. Washburn.
