David R. Fitzpatrick

Troy- David R. Fitzpatrick, 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late John R. and Mary E. Fitzpatrick. David was the beloved husband of Wendy Fitzpatrick. They were married for 42 years.

David graduated from Troy High School. He was a lifelong resident of Troy, New York. After 20 years of service as a bus driver, David retired from the CDTA.

David was an avid golfer. He loved his Yankees and watching Football. David loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who always brought him great joy. David was always the strength of his family, and that strength would transcend to his willingness to help others. David spent his last days surrounded by his loving family and still managed to smile and tell his jokes.

The family would like to thank everyone for all their support.

David was the loving father of David Fitzpatrick (Sarah) of Whitehall, Jennifer Friello (Dominick) of Delanson, and Colleen Muller (Ray) of Troy; He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Jack Fitzpatrick (Debbie), Linda McGuirk (Bill), Cheryl Cocca, Larry Fitzpatrick, Rene Warmt (Joe), Darryl Fitzpatrick, Elizabeth Fitzpatrick-Linen and Kelly Savi (Kevin); fourteen grandchildren, Chelsea, Christopher (Brittney), Corey (Alex), Colton, Dominick, Zachary, Ryan, Stephen, Aimee, Alicia and Nyzel, Brooke, Brianna, Gage; 2 Great grandchildren Cole and Aubree; and many nephews, nieces and friends.

In addition to his parents, David is predeceased by his grandson, Cody M. Fitzpatrick; his sister, Jo Ann Sherman (Fitzpatrick); and mother-in-law, Margaret McGrath.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Thursday January 27, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 pm.
