David Conrad Gross, Sr.

September 13, 1943 — March 10, 2021

Troy - David Conrad Gross, Sr., 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 with his loving family by his side. David was the son of the late Joseph and Lillian Gross. David was the devoted husband to Frances Gross. They were married 52 loving years.

Aside from his family, SSG David C. Gross' greatest devotion was to the military. He was a loyal member of the Army/National Guard. He spent many years as a federal tech with the Division of Military and Naval Affairs at the state headquarters in Latham, NY. He took great pride later in his career transporting the men and women of the 105th Light Infantry Battalion, 27th Infantry Brigade.

Anyone who knew Dave knew how much he loved fishing. He passed that love on to his family, giving each of his grandchildren their very first fishing pole at the age of one. He was also known for his random bits of knowledge from the gangs old trivial pursuit days. Dave was happiest when he was taking trips to Maine with his wife and family or searching high and low for the perfect walking stick.

David is survived by his children, Joseph, Amy (Walter) Rockenstire and David (Lesley); his four grandchildren, Teaghan, Logan, Penelope and Conrad; his brother, Thomas (Barbara) Gross; and many loving relatives and friends.

Dave's family wishes to sincerely thank Community Hospice for the outstanding care and support given, especially the hospice nurses, Nancy, Mary Beth and Joe.

Services will be held privately by the family. Interment will be at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

Donations may be made in David's memory to the Veterans of Lansingburgh, Inc., 777 1st Ave., Troy, NY 12182.
