COLONIE- David P. Lauer, 58, of Colonie, died Tuesday March 1, 2005 after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Edward and Marian Pulver Lauer.
He was graduate of Philip Schuyler High School. He was associated with the Plumber & Steamfitters Local #7 in Albany for forty years. Dave belonged to the Guilderland Elks # 2480 and was a longtime member and past secretary of the Guilderland Elks Bowling League. He was a former volunteer and officer with Colonie Little League and Babe Ruth..
He is the beloved husband of 35 years to Joanne VanAmburgh Lauer. He is the devoted father of Keith D. Lauer of Albany and Christopher B. Lauer (Heather) of Joshua Tree, CA. He is the grandfather of Tyler C. Lauer. Although he was an only child, Dave never wanted for camaraderie. His friendships were many. He was a kind and loving man who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 9:00 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the American cancer Society.
