SCOTIA-David M. Lilienthal, 90, of Marjon Ave, Scotia passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Lilienthal was born in Albany, NY the son of the late Milton and Blanche Draper Lilienthal. He resided in Scotia most of his life. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant. Mr. Lilienthal retired from GE as a manufacturing engineer. After the war, while with GE, he and a group of men were assigned to update the radar. Mr. Lilenthal and his wife enjoyed the Adirondacks; while visiting their camp. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition, Mr. Lilienthal was a life member of the SME and a member of the GE Apprentice Association.
Mr. Lilienthal is survived by two daughters, Sharon (John) LaBombard, of Gansevoort and Susan (Jeremy) Shank, of Horseheads; his grandchildren, Michele Freeman, John David (Alicia) LaBombard, Jennifer Frost, Aaron (Roshini) Shank and Jodi Davies; great grandchildren, Rebecca, Jessica, Jonna, Joshua, Laiken, Caeden, Renuka, Rasilini, Ranjini, Chance and Maia. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Anderson, of Charlotte, NC and by a very dear friend, Terry Carter, of Stillwater.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lilienthal was predeceased by his wife, Winifred; brother, Henry and a sister, Jane.

A graveside will be held at Albany Rural Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 22, 2012.
