David Mark Victor Sieg was born on May 23, 1992 in Schenectady, NY and passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on April 3, 2015 at the age of 22. He had accepted the Lord, about the age of 4, during a thunderstorm. There would be many struggles, obstacles, and blessings he would then undergo in his life. We are elated to have received confirmation of his being with Jesus, shortly after his passing.
Dave grew up with a natural instinct for technology. He spent his early childhood taking apart anything that he could find just to learn how to put it back together again. He was constantly outsmarting any type of "child-proof" system even at an early age and knew how to fix whatever he set his mind to. Later in his early teens he built his own computer and worked with others to do the same.
Dave also had a very active life growing up and did outstanding in many sports. He didn't really favor all of them, but excelled in them all in spite of it. He enjoyed tae kwon do and soccer, for the love of the sport alone, the best. As Dave got older, he liked to spend his free time with friends, family, his loyal cat Mac, or on his motorcycle. He enjoyed learning how to play guitar and had dreams of devoting time to mastering it. He loved music and attending music events. He loved horticulture. He spent time in college studying Chemistry and in particular was interested in Organic Chemistry. He was also gifted with a photographic memory for the notes on the board.
He had just received a new career "dream job" as Lead onsite technician with a wonderful PC company. There appeared to be a promising future where he could enter management by the end of May, since he was doing very well.
Dave's compassionate and generous nature was apparent to all. He never passed up an opportunity to help someone and was always available to lend a hand or listen. Dave will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. He was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, friend or the like.
David is survived by his parents, Sally Wintermantel and Mark Sieg; his sister, Jessica Sieg; grandparents, Robert Wintermantel and Diana Sieg, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
