David Israel Metchick

SCHENECTADY - David Israel Metchick, 87, peacefully passed away on October 1, 2022. David was born on September 6, 1935 in Albany, NY. After being honorably discharged from the Army National Guard in 1959, he worked at Empire Blue Cross & Blue Shield for 43 years as a statistician. David enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, playing the piano and accordion and singing.

David is survived by his daughters, Judith Dyer and Patricia (Gregg) Desiato, three grandchildren, Lauren (Adam) Santiago, John R. Dyer Jr. and Ryan Howard and two great-grandchildren Ava and Elena Santiago.

David was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Dolores (Tusang) Metchick, his brother Leo Metchick and his mother, Margaret (Hanson) Metchick.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible staff at Daughter's of Sarah Nursing Center. The care and compassion shown to David the past two years was beyond exceptional.
