Albany - David L. Michaels crossed over to eternal peace after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease on March 21st, 2021 at his home.
Born in Albany, NY he is the son of the late Herbert and Mary (Oliver) Michaels.
David was a member of both law enforcement and military who gave everything he had to his career to provide for his family. His priority in life was his family and making sure that everyone was happy. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and his faith more than anything.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Michaels as well as his father in law Giovanni Scisci.
David is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Tina, his brother Richard Michaels, his two sons, John (Emily) and Brian (Deborah) Michaels, his daughter Teresa (Edward) Pizzigati, his Granddaughters, Victoria Michaels (Nicholas Lattan), Reese Michaels, Olivia Pizzigati, Maya Pizzigati, his Grandsons, Stephen Michaels, Justyn Michaels, Damian Hutton-Pizzigati, Ethan Pizzigati, and his two Great Grandchildren Kiara Bosquez-Lattan and Lucas Lattan.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 26, 2021 from 10am-11:30am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie NY, with a service to follow at 11:30am. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
Gathering size, within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required, and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
