David N. Collins

Niskayuna - David N. Collins died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Ellis Hospital. David was born on June 8, 1967 in Albany. He graduated from Niskayuna High School, Schenectady County Community College and the University of Tampa, FL. The son of William R. Collins of Niskayuna and the late Jean C. Collins, David is survived by three children in Florida: Patrick David, Nicholas William and Anna Rose Collins. In addition, his is survived by a sister, Martha (Scott) Chisholm and two nieces, Mary Elizabeth and Catherine Decker of Canton, NY. David is also survived by a dear and beloved friend, Veronica Jones. Upon returning to Niskayuna from Florida, David worked at the Niskayuna Hannaford with a wonderful and caring group of colleagues.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). David's love of animals followed him to Florida where he became a part time dog trainer. In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's memory may be made to Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12303.
