ALBANY – David Peters entered eternal life on May 26, 2014. Born May 23, 1926 to Henry and Lillian (Sanborn) Peters, he was one of seven children. David grew up in the Town of Hope, NY. He was the husband of the late Eva Mae (Clouthier) Peters. David proudly served in the US Army during WWII, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and through the remainder of the war.
David was a master carpenter working for over 40 years in the trade. He also worked as the sexton at his beloved Trinity United Methodist Church in Albany. David was a 50+ year member.
David is survived by his two sons David (Frances) and Charles (Elizabeth); four grandchildren: Lisa Peters (fiancé Sean Bohley), Melissa (Joseph) Mosseau, Amy (Shawn) DeCelle and David Peters. He is also survived by brothers Harold of Hope, NY, and Nelson (Judy) of Northville, NY. David was predeceased by his infant daughter, Catherine; sister Arbutus Brown and brothers Henry, Benjamin and Hugh.
A special thanks to the staff and caregivers of St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for making David's time there pleasant and comfortable. His family will be forever grateful.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:30 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A calling hour will precede the service from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 2:00pm at Wells Methodist Cemetery, Wells, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 235 Lark Street, Albany, NY 12210 in David's name.
