ALTAMONT – David R. Dwyer, 64, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Troy on February 17, 1948, he was the son of the late Robert and Evelyn (Derocher) Dwyer.
David graduated from Lansingburgh High School in 1967. He worked for MKS Kitchens in Latham and Albany Appliance in Albany. David was an avid fisherman and hunter for many years. He enjoyed fishing with his son and grandchildren. A favorite pastime of his was watching the New York Islander's hockey games. David had a great sense of humor and always made time to make you smile with his jokes and smart remarks.
Along with his parents, David was predeceased by his brother Robert M. Dwyer.
He leaves his wife of 45 years, Janice (Galarneau) Dwyer; children Roberta (Dwyer) Keaton and David (Cindy) Dwyer; sister Janice M. Dwyer; grandchildren Nathaniel Keaton, Kayla Keaton and Krystal Dwyer; step-grandchildren Ronnie Digby, Arsensio Evans, Jennifer Bonn and Samantha Digby; step-great-granddaughter Emma Digby; several brother and sister-in-laws; nieces; nephews; cousins, and his companion, Shadow.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Peter's Hospital for their excellent care.
As per David's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 155 Washington Ave., Suite 210, Albany, NY 12210 in David's name.
