David Robert Elston
October 28, 1940 — June 13, 2012
COLONIE – David Robert Elston, 71, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Hudson Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Albany, he was the son of Katherine A. Elston and the late Frederick Elston.
David worked for Robert Allen Paving for 15 years. He was a member of the Colonie Village and Midway Fire Departments. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. He was also fond of sitting in the yard and feeding the birds and squirrels of the neighborhood.
Along with his father, David was predeceased by his aunt Marie Mackowiac, and uncle Paul Mackowiac.
He is survived by his mother, Katherine A. Elston; brother Donald F. (Evelyn) Elston of Guilderland; sister Barbara (the late Richard) Hahn of Florida; aunt Clara (the late William) Adams of Rensselaer; lifelong friend Robert Cady of Colonie, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
