Obituary for David T. Mallia (Gilgallon)
ROTTERDAM – David T. Mallia (A.K.A David T. Gilgallon), 60, passed away after a courageous battle with Leukemia on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Philip Mallia and Ida Gilgallon.
David was a staff accountant for Galesi Management. He took great pride in his work and found enjoyment being with the company. In his free time, David loved spending time with his family and friends and traveling. He also spent many years working with foreign exchange students.
David was predeceased by his sister, Gail Gilgallon, and step-father, Herbert Richard Gilgallon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Leslie (Wadsworth) Mallia; daughters Erika (Chris) Zitzmann and Jacqueline Mallia; sons Robert (Genell) Mallia and Brian (Laura) Mallia; Eight grandchildren; three half brothers, and three half sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 9:00 am on Monday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie. Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie.
