David Teta

David T. Teta, 45, of Glenmont, passed away on July 31, 2023 at home.

He was born August 5, 1977 to his parents, Pompei Teta and Janice Powers Teta of Albany.

David spent his childhood playing baseball through Westland Hills Little League in Albany, and graduated from Albany High School in 1995. After years of living on the baseball diamond he turned to his ultimate passion of music and playing the drums. Dave rocked with friends in Poor Jayce and then Group W took him to California with dreams of becoming the ultimate rockstar. He eventually found his way back home to Albany, and spent years forming life long friendships in groups like Big Nixon, Erin Harkes, the Chris Dukes band, Funk Evolution, Evo 2 and the OMG band. He will always be remembered as lighting up the stage behind that drum set.

Dave's other passions included watching drum and bugle corps, college basketball, golf, and spending time with family, especially his three children. He loved the holidays, especially Christmas and the unofficial decorating competition between him and his sister.

David is survived by his father Pompei (Ann O'Brien) Teta, Schenectady; his mother, Jan Teta, Waterliet; sister, Christine (Ben) Foster, Saratoga; niece Maya Wolter; daughter Ashlynne Kluss-Teta and her mother (Kelly Kluss), Grimes, Iowa; and his boys Nicholas and Aj Teta and their mother Leeana Verrelli, Selkirk, NY, as well as many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday August 14th from 4pm-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, New York.
