COLONIE – David Thorsland, 88, of Colonie, passed away on Tuesday May 3, 2011 at St. Peter's Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Troy and was the son of the late David and Bertha Smith Thorsland Sr. David served in the US Army during WWII. He worked as a tax examiner at New York State Department of Tax & Finance in Albany for over thirty years. He enjoyed hiking and skiing.
David is survived by his beloved wife of fifty years, Esther Haagner Thorsland. He is the uncle of Robert (Linda) Horn and many other loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private. There will be no calling hours. Entombment will be in Saratoga National VA Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Adirondack Mountain Club, 814 Goggins Road, Lake George, NY 12845 in memory of David Thorsland.
