Niskayuna New York - Davida Wohl, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2019.
She was born on May 22, 1954 daughter of the late Shirley Randall and Gerald Wohl and her step mother Joyce Wohl. Davida received a Master's degree from in Special Education from the College of St. Rose.
She is survived by her committed husband and partner in life, Karl Yesse; her son Thomas Spence and daughter Sarah Spence-Staulters and her husband Lucas Spence-Staulters and Granddaughter Truedyn Spence-Stautlers. She is also survived by her Step Daughter Liesel Welsch and her husband Daniel and their daughter Keira and son Conor. She is also survived by her sister Rosie Wohl and her children Joshua, Leah and Rebecca.
She was predeceased by her son Brian Spence.
Davida worked in service to others and throughout her career has assisted numerous students in reaching their educational goals in schools both public and private.
She was an active member of the Congregation Berith Sholom in Troy, NY; for many years working as a teacher to grades K-2 in the Troy Jewish Community Regional School. She also sang in the synagogue choir until her illness began to overtake her. The latest of her contributions to the synagogue was spearheading the production of 12 stained glass patterned banners, representing each of the 12 tribes of Israel.
A celebration of Davida's life, in the form of nondenominational Shiva, will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 between 1:00pm - 5:00pm at the Rexford Firehouse (1601 Route 146, Rexford, NY 12148). ALL are welcome to come and celebrate, and please feel free to bring a dish to share. Burial and Memorial Services to be held at a later date.
