In Loving Memory of Dawn Michele Roosevelt (Rock, Benninger)

Esperance - Dawn Michele Roosevelt, 57, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at home with her loving family by her side, after a 5 year battle with cancer. Dawn, whom preferred to be called Michele, was the daughter of Donald Rock and the late Carol Hofmann-Baker. She was a devoted wife to her husband Richard Roosevelt.

Michele is survived by husband Richard Roosevelt; her very loved children Ashley Benninger and Jessica Welch (Bob); Her beloved siblings Tammy Rock and Shawn Rock (Tina); her very special grandchildren, Everett Fabian, Mollie Welch, Mason Welch, Lucas Welch and Dustin Thomas; her dearest niece Cassie Poventud and her most special friend and cousin Pauline Osher.

Michele was predeceased by her mother and closest friend Carol A. Hofmann and her step father Michael Hofmann; as well as her closest fur baby Spike. May they all rest in peace by her side.

Michele was a graduate of Mohonasen High school, graduating early due to her supreme intellegence. She went on to get her associates degree in medical assisting and spent many years as a dental assistant before working for the family business in her younger years. She has spent the last 14 years working for the NYS Thruway, her most recent years were spent as a dispather for the NYS thurway State Police, which she truly enjoyed and is leaving behind many friends. She took joy in being able to help people in times of need and her job was very fufilling for her. Regardless of her health strugles, she was always a devoted, hard working and driven woman. Her intellegence and strong will shined through in everything she did.

Michele had the sweetest eyes and a smile that would light up a room, she would do anything and everything she could to make others happy. Little moments and details were so special to her. She made every birthday so special with her spectacular cakes and fun little themes. She always put in so much time on things to make them as perfect as she could. She was an amazing crafter and artist and enjoyed crochet. She was recently making hats as a donation for children's hospitals and local ambulance services. She was an amazing gardner and took after her mother in that way; her life was always filled with beautiful flowers and each flower was special to her in some way. Daffodils were her favorite flower and a vanilla milkshake would always make her day. She was always excited to share a new keto recipe or pass on a family tradition.

Michele's greatest accomplishments were her daughters and grandchildren. If you were lucky enough to know her, she was always talking about them and how proud she was of each of them. She loved to do crafts and make cookies with her grandchildren Mason and Mollie. Michele loved to see her grandson Everett grow, he always made her smile. Her grandsons Dustin and Lucas were very special to her and she was so proud of what great young men they turned out to be. Her son in law Bob was very special to her too and she was so proud to have him in her life, she loved him unconditionally. Michele's sister Tammy and Niece Cassandra brought her such joy and love too, they filled her heart with happiness. If you were lucky enough to be loved by her, it was true love and she carried you with her in her heart and thoughts always.

Michele loved to spend time up north with her very special cousin Pauline and family, who she loved dearly. Her happiest days came from visits to Pauline's camp and lake Champlain where should would laugh, relax, fish and spend time with her family- she called this "her real home". Pauline was her best friend in life and stood by her side right to the very end.

She loved to gather as a family, especially the holidays - this meant a lot to her. She loved her family so much and seeing us together and happy were her most treasured times. Michele loved Cape Cod and wanted everyone to plan a trip there, her family will be planning a trip in her memory since she was taken from us too soon.

A closed family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Donations can be made in Michele's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital and in the spring, if you'd like, you can bring a plant to her daughter's home to be placed in Michele and her mother's memorial garden.
