Dawn M. Ruchel-Frankovic

Dawn M. Ruchel-Frankovic born on August 29, 1975 passed away peacefully on November 19, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Karen F. Ruchel and John S. Ruchel Sr. of Niverville, NY. Dawn was the devoted mother of Paul F. Ruchel, the loving fiancé of Joseph Frankovic of Ravena, and cherished sister of John S. (Stephanie) Ruchel Jr. and Sherri (Billy) Plunkett.

Dawn became Paul's mother at a young age, but she worked hard to finish school and support him in order to give him the best life possible. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her friends, Stacy and Mary, or curled up with a good book. It was only in the last five years that Dawn found true love with her fiancé, Joe. After just one month into their courtship, Dawn was diagnosed with cancer, but Joe never left her side. He stood by her through all of the testing, treatments, and surgeries, and their love grew and blossomed. Joe supported Dawn when she expressed an interest in the farm life. They started out with chickens and progressed to pigs (Hammy - her favorite pig) and goats (Butters - her favorite goat). Dawn also had two dogs - her girls, Lily and Holly, who went with her everywhere.

In the last five years, Dawn battled cancer several times and although she didn't beat it, she found that all of her dreams still came true. She will be remembered by many loved ones and though she didn't take his name in life, she will take his name in death as Dawn M. Ruchel-Frankovic, and the love they shared will last beyond this lifetime.

Calling hours will be at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY on Saturday, November 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a service of remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions be made in Dawn's memory to the Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society Menands, NY.
