Deborah Robertson

It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of our Mother and Step-Mother, Deborah Jean Robertson on All Saints Day, November 1, 2024. 

Deborah was born in Albany, NY to the late Francis and Jean Borter on August 23, 1954. She was a 1972 Colonie Central High School graduate and lived most of her life in Colonie.

Deb spent most of her working years as a food service manager for Restaura and Aramark. She also worked for Greyhound. In her retirement years she worked as a receptionist at Our Lady of Mercy in Guilderland.

Deb’s happiest days were with her husband camping, taking a ride to the beach or boating. She and Skip were inseparable for 30+ years until his passing in 2023. She spent many years taking such great care of him and Sandy Sherman. Deb also loved time with her kids, grandkids and friends. She loved company and the occasions always involved lots of food, especially Christmas Eve, which was also her wedding anniversary. 

Deb is survived by her daughter Brandi (Andrew) Slezak of Palm Harbor Florida, her Step-daughter Melissa (Travis) Coon of Colonie, six grandchildren, Logan, Abigail, Alexander, Caroline, Taylor and Riley, her brother, Jerry (Flo) Borter, a niece, several cousins and several really good friends.

She was predeceased by parents, Francis and Jean Borter, her husband, Harold (Skip) S.Robertson, stepson H. Stewart Robertson and long time friend Harold (Sandy) Sherman.

 A visitation will be held on Saturday November 23rd from 9am-11am with a service to be held at 11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd Colonie.
