Debra A. Baker

SCHENECTADY-Debra A. (Bladen) Baker, 53 of Schenectady passed away at Ellis Hospital on Thursday, December 26, 2013 following a long illness surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 27, 1960 in Fall Rivers, MA, the daughter of the late Robert Bladen and Olga (Cortese) Mercer. Debra was a life resident of Schenectady. She worked in the bakery at Price Chopper for many years. Debra enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, and cooking Sunday dinners for the Dallas Cowboy games. She was an avid sports fan, who enjoyed watching her kids play baseball and basketball, as well as recreational softball. Debra also loved her pets and her Florida vacations.
Debra is survived by her beloved husband Darnell Baker; her loving children Darnell Baker, Jr. (Gabrielle), Joshua Baker, Spencer Baker (Jennifer) and Brittany Baker (Jesus) and her cherished granddaughter Elliana. She is also survived by her siblings Elizabeth Newport (Bob), Roberta Macejka (Bill), and Lillis Romines (Kevin); father in law George Baker; Sister in law Shelly; brother in laws Jeff, Kenny, Shawn and Rodney; and by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Debra was predeceased by her mother in law Sarah Baker.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Monday, December 30, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie with a funeral service to immediately follow at 7 PM.
