Guilderland- Delma "Dell" Siggia, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 24, 2018 with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Angiolina and Guglielnio Pizzati. Dell is predeceased by her husband Joseph V. Siggia.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Dell married Joseph V. Siggia and then moved to the West Albany area in 1956. Dell was a secretary at Simon and Schuster in New York City. She spent all her time taking her sons to football, basketball and baseball practice and games. Dell went on to become a bookkeeper at Villa Italia Bakery in Rotterdam working 20 plus years. She enjoyed bowling, ceramics and dancing with her husband. Dell was a member of the West Albany Fire Co. #2 Ladies Auxiliary where she held several offices. Dell and Joe loved to travel especially to Cape Cod and Schroon Lake. Dell also loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three sons, Thomas (Cathy) Siggia, of Wellfleet, MA, John (Patty) Siggia, of Brunswick and Jeff (Rose) Siggia of Guilderland. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lindsay, Elise, Samantha and Nickolas and her two great grandchildren, Liam and Ryan.
Dell is predeceased by her siblings, Lee Pizzati and John Pizzati.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Dell's name may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundations & Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff at Van Rensselaer Manor for their love and care.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 29 at 10:30am at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
