COLONIE – Dolores "Del" D. Sponable, 94, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Teresian House. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Loretta Decker.
Del was a resident of Colonie and later, of Teresian House. She worked for New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for 20 years. Del was a life member of the Colonie Elks Ladies Auxiliary and was very active with the Herbert B. Kuhn Senior Citizens Center in Colonie. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, gardening and traveling with her late husband of 62 years, Ralph.
Del will be missed by her sons Paul (Carol) Sponable of Cohoes and Thomas (Barbara) of Syracuse; grandchildren Joseph, Suzanne, Matthew, Christopher and Katie, and eight great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Teresian House's Infant of Prague Chapel, 200 Washington Avenue Ext., Albany. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Teresian House. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. In place of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Herbert B. Kuhn Senior Citizens Center, 2 Thunder Road, Albany, NY 12205 in Del's name.
