Delores "Pookie" Traynham was born October 11, 1950 to the late Bernice Wesley-Traynham and Charles Traynham.
She was employed as a crossing guard and bus driver for the City of Albany until her retirement.
Pookie loved down home cooking, banana pudding being her favorite snack. She enjoyed spending time at the casino, and was a die heart
Dallas Cowboys fan. She loved life, but most of all, her family and friends.
Pookie was called home on September 29, 2023.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Patricia Traynham, Shirley ( Lee) Traynham and Shenell Traynham and her brothers Lenwood Traynham, Charles C. Wesley and Charles Traynham, as well as her niece and nephews Inasia Traynham, RaQuan Murphy, Naylon "Nay" Carrington.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Elgin Morris; grandchildren, David and Renee Crowley; siblings Alice Dykes, Gladys Clary, and Vincent Carrington; Affie (Billy) Jenkins, Francine Chappell; god brothers Gene Broadhead and Maurice Burke; nieces and nephews, Teshon (Guy) Traynham, Lamar (Jojo) Traynham, Jovanda Traynham, Dontia (Ishy) Traynham, Shiwan (Kierra) Parker, Hassan (Shaniqua) Parker; great nieces and nephews Corisha (Amin) Johnson-Cowan, Jahad (Joi) Graves, Jalah Traynham, Itia West and a host of other nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at New Comer Cremation & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., from 11AM-12PM with a service follow at 12PM.
